I thought this was a parody, then realized they were serious. There web page makes it look like an MLM scheme.
They talk very little about what 'structured water' actually is, but spend a lot of their web presence on being an entrepreneur. From a chemical perspective, it is complete crap. Our body uses water, its solvent properties are well understood. H3O2 is not the way our body predominately uses water, Ff it was, why have humans only ever consumed H2O? Some cultures drink H3O2? They allude to a few cultures but dont specify anything about their preparation, then go and talk about holy water. This is an obvious attempt at misdirection, their PhDs are spouting nonsense, and their other spokesmen are obviously not in the science field.
This is a pretty lazy attempt at selling something valueless to people impressionable enough to believe in anything. If your mom has a lot of really dumb friends, maybe she will make money, but she will be selling her soul to do so. This is making money off of other's stupidity. At some point I am sure they talk about how their product can cure cancer or make us humans 2.0, but it is all crap. Nope, Hydronium is H3O +, not H3O2.The closest to that is peroxide, which is H2O2.That forms this structure:Or to write it out, H-O-O-HOxygen likes to form 2 bonds, and hydrogen likes to form 1 bond. Both H2O (H-O-H) and H2O2 (H-O-O-H) meet both of those criteria.I'd like you to try to imagine a way that H3O2 could possibly exist, where oxygen has 2 bonds, and the hydrogen has one bond.I haven't figured one out yet. Aside from a hydronium version of H-O-O-H - basically, an H+ trying desperately to attach to one of the oxygens. So, basically, H3O2 is, at best, supremely acidic peroxide.
Which, by the way, wasn't exactly stable to begin with - it should break down into H2O and O2 in a hurry. (The bubbles from peroxide are just oxygen gas emerging, when the H2O2 breaks down.)At worst, it's highly explosive, as it's breakdown would result in hydrogen gas and oxygen gas emerging, which isn't a happy mix.TL;DR - As a chemistry major, this is BS. They talk very little about what 'structured water' actually is, but spend a lot of their web presence on being an entrepreneur. This is usually the way MLMs are structured. The product acts as a vehicle to sell the 'opportunity' to create your own business. The top comment on does a good job of showing why Dr Pollack's endorsement means nothingEDIT: The most important point isFirst, your stomach secretes acid, so any extra base would be neutralized immediately.(I'm almost embarrassed I didn't see this straight away)This 'Structured Water' is simply water with a higher proportion of ions, and therefore is alkaline.
Despite what many quacks say, the body tightly regulates blood pH. Like really tightly controls it.
Therefore check your local water report to ensure you are receiving clean and safe water, and to be extra sure that your water is the best; get yourself a water filter for your pitcher to enjoy the crisp and delicious taste of purified water in your own home.
