I watched it as well live, and I was surprised it was quite short (though perhaps I misread originally?) The whole live was great, and I'm really amped to relive it on film.I also liked seeing the guys behind the scenes. The band's input on how the show/setlist should be, getting ready. I don't know why I enjoy it as much as I do, but I always enjoy their documentary footage. And yes!
So much going on this summer. I take it you're also going to one of the preorder events in June too? That'll be super exciting! And the Vulgar tour.!.
Oh that's right! Maybe I was thinking the length would be similar to the Perfect edition.
Hm, I hope it's on niconico but it's only a month until the release so those who miss out can wait, I guess.Unfortunately I'm not able to attend any of the events; I'm not in the country and even though I have a friend who offered to pick me up an Osaka ticket, I'm actually going to a different live on June 18th so I will be unavailable. It's too bad but it can't be helped, can it?! If you're in Osaka, if you see a white blonde haired white girl-that's probably me. (There's like, a whole three of us, I think!)I do hope you're able to go to as many as you can and get different members or perhaps the same member;) for each one. I'd be happy to read about it if you wish to share the experience.
In Japan I've only been to Gasou signing and sukekiyo signing with Kyo, we weren't allowed to ask for a handshake, but we could still say a short message when he was signing the CD/book, but the whole thing was VERY short. No Q&A, there would be so many people that you couldn't have all of them in the room with a band member, there will be a line and fans will go one by one. Usually they even organize it in a way that you can't see the musician while you're lining up.I don't want to make it sound off-putting, it's just how it's done in Japan. That is not 'just how it's done in Japan'. That is how DEG do it, because they do not like fan interaction very much and are rich and famous enough to be able to get away with behaving in an aloof way.
Kawashima Mirai of Sigh is an awful lot friendlier and just as Japanese. Yoshiki seemed quite amicable as well when he did an AMA on reddit.I admire DEG as artists, but their fan interaction is less than stellar compared with certain other Japanese musicians.
Frankly, it is almost contemptuous, and no, that is not just explained by where they are from. They obviously care about their fans (touring North America, for example), but they could show it more. They seem to expect fans to worship them to some extent, and sadly some of them do.
